MIT DOWEL SCAN
Introduction
- MIT-DOWEL-SCAN is a measuring instrument designed for non-destructive testing of dowel and tie bar
positions in concrete pavements. They are determined very accurately right after the test run. Operating
on the pulse induction method, the measuring device makes use of the magnetic properties of the
installed steel bars.
- MIT-DOWEL-SCAN can be utilized for new construction and maintenance of:
- Concrete roads
- Airfields
- Container storage areas and unreinforced concrete pavements
The device is commonly used by construction companies, engineering offi ces and government agencies who
are engaged in quality assessment. Details for the use of the measurement method and requirements are
outlined in ASTM E3013 and other national standards.
- Signal recording by simply moving the device over the concrete pavement
- Highly accurate measurements of dowel and tie bar positions
- More than 15 years successfully used and approved by well-known agencies,
contractors and consultants worldwide. Meets ASTM E3013
MIT-SCAN-T3
Introduction
- The measuring device MIT-SCAN-T3 was developed for the non-destructive and precise analysis of asphalt
and
concrete pavements. Unbound courses of the upper pavement structure (frost protection layer and
aggregate
base layer) can also be assessed.
- AREAS OF APPLICATION :
- Quality assurance self-monitoring
- Contract compliance audits
- Site acceptance testing
- Road wear testing
- Warranty audits
- Road maintainability audits
- Road rehabilitation audits
- Rapid & efficient. Immediately ready for use
- Cost Effective. Durable device with a long service life
- Precise. Very high measurement accuracy: ±(1 mm + 0.5 % of measured value)
- Flexible. Safe transport in high-quality MIT-SCAN-T3 carrying case (car suitable)
MIT-SCAN2-BT
Introduction
- Specialized system for the measurement of dowel
bar and tie bar positions (including bars in dowel
baskets)
- Easy handling, assembly and transport
- Accurate and fast non-destructive measurement
of dowel bar positions
- Easy control of the measurement and on-site
analysis with a Pocket PC
- High precision: Depth and misalignments of bars
can be determined with a tolerance of ± 4 mm,
side shift with a tolerance of ± 8 mm (peak to
peak)
- Efficient inspection of long route sections
(500-600 joints of 16 m length per day)
- Measurements can be performed as soon as the
concrete is walkable
- Comprehensive analysis and visualization of data
and measuring results with the desktop software
